The DeKalb County Sheriffs Office is resposible for the county jail, courtroom security, prisoner transport and the service of criminal and civil papers.

The DeKalb County Marshalls office is responsible for the service of court ordered civil papers, such as dispossesory warrants (evictions).

DeKalb School System Department of Public Safety
The DeKalb School System Department of Public Safety was established in 1999 and is responsible for all activity of DeKalb Public School grounds.

Agnes Scott College Police
The Agnes Scott College Police Department is resposible for all public safety matters on their campus.

City of Atlanta Police Department
The City of Atlanta Police Department is the states largest police department. They handle all police related matters within the capitol of Georgia.

City of Avondale Estates
The City of Avondale Estates is resposible for all police related matters within the historic city of Avondale Estates. They also assist the County units with calls on the outskirts of the city. Thanks guys.

City of Decatur Police
The City of Decatur Police Department is handles all police related matters within the County Seat of DeKalb County.

The DeKalb College Police Department
The DeKalb College Police Department has been disbanded. The DeKalb County Police Department handles all police related calls on the campuses with the assistance of DeKalb College Security Officers.

MARTA Police Department
The MARTA (Metro Atlanta Rapid Transit Authority) Police Department handles all police related calls on transit station property and transit lines.

Pine Lake Police Department
The Pine Lake Police Department handles all police related calls for the incorporated area of Pine Lake.

Stone Mountain Park Police
The Stone Mountain Park Police are State Police Officers that handle all police related amtters within Stone Mountain Park. They also help out the City of Stone Mountain Police Department.

The Georgia State Patrol patch
The Georgia State Patrol primarily handles traffic enforcement in the state. In rural areas the State patrol assists smaller agencies. Some of of our specialized units such as S.T.A.R. (Strategic Traffic Accident Reduction (i.e. DUI unit) and TAC (Tactical enforcement) work with GSP from time to time.

GBI, Georgia Bureau of Investigations
The GBI handles criminal investigations for rural areas of the state and assists agencies in large cases and internal matters.

The Department of Natural Resources
The Department of Natural Resources Wildlife Resources Law Enforcement Division handles the enforcement of hunting and fishing laws throughout the state.

The Southeast Drug Task Force
The Southeast Drug Taskforce is a multi-state drug enforcement unit comprised of officers from various local agencies.
